Vacation planning is in full swing. I just ordered up a rental "global" phone so we can have phone-age whilst in England. That business is expensive! But it's just as expensive as a pay-as-you-go purchased over there, really, and possibly cheaper considering the abysmal state of our dollar's buying power overseas.

Now to try to figure out what the grocery shopping situation will be like in Brize Norton. I'm a little scared of just how much money it's going to cost to eat for 2 weeks. Also, there's so much I want to see, and I need to remember that we want this to be a relaxing vacation. Oxford, Stratford, Salisbury, Bath, Wells... if it were realistic I'd love to trek up to York, but I think York/Lake District/Scotland will have to be its own trip some other time.

In "what I've been up to this week" news- I had a rather large-ish mole removed earlier this week, and it's been ouchy. I have stitches. Tomorrow I am off to Freeport for a librarian conference.

And Harold & Kumar 2 comes out tomorrow!

Was that actual excitement for Harold & Kumar 2, or feigned/ironic excitement? The former, I hope...

I am 100% sincere! Is it possible to not like Harold & Kumar?

Did you decide on a location for viewing said movie?

Yay Harold and Kumar! I am excited, although I've seen that there is a lot of frontal nudity in it, which I can do without for comedic purposes - see Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Actually, there wasn't a preponderance of full on nudity.

Did you see Forgetting Sarah Marshall? I really want to see it, but I can't tell if it's something that's better to wait for on video or to see in the theater.

My vote is wait until DVD. It was funny, but I had high expectations with Jason Segel and Kristen Bell. It was entertaining, but not amazing.

Sorry to hear that Harold and Kumar did not rock your world.

We re-watched the first one this weekend in preparation for seeing it at some point soon. The Racoon and NPH still hilarious!

I hope you don't plan on driving over there. In 2000, gas was about $5US and I can't even imagine what it is now.

We are definitely driving, we're going to too many places to be able to get everywhere easily on public transit, but we have no illusions about gas and realize we'll probably be spending a couple hundred bucks on it. I'm always surprised by how expensive the trains in England, so we'd probably spend just as much money on trains if we used those, plus we'd be hassled by not being able to be on our own schedule. Luckily we don't really buy stuff when we're on vacation, so our money is going to food, gas, and booze while we're there.
