So once in a while I make these long lists of "Things to Do" so when Drew and I are bored on a weekend I can pull out a list of ideas (most of which are bad for time/cost/effort reasons), but still, I like to have these ideas ready.
So here's my list of things I want to do in the summer (I guess not everything requires summer time, and some are silly/not quite possible):
Mini-golf (Pirate's Cove and Monster Mini-Golf, it's in the dark!)
Letterboxing
Geocaching
Go 80s/90s dancing
Comedy at the Hong Kong/anywhere
Old Orchard Beach
Find an amusement park with a log flume. Ride said log flume. Repeat!
Tiki Party
Ghost Tour
Scavenger Hunt
Find weird museums and visit them
Explore some of the haunted places in this book (especially any ghost towns, of which I know there's one in Rhode Island!)
Inside activities: Poker/card games night
Board game night
Murder mystery dinner party
What other things to do are there? Bonus points for cheap!

B) that's one from the Vowell book, right? Interest= yes, Money/time = to be determined. I may not be able to take (m)any vacation days this summer if I want to have a day or two for NYC in the fall. But perhaps!

B) I think so? Having never read the Vowell book, I'm not entirely sure. And yeah...I totally know how you feel.

And I totally want to go letterboxing around here. Plus, beaches, parks and the old port! Oh man, I need to make sure I actually do something this summer.

I know Catherine is dying to do Murder Mystery up here in Maine...she talks about it all the time, has researched which game to buy and everything....we just need to pick time to do it

Maybe not CHEAP, but Rik and I used to buy Star Wars Lego kits from time to time and spend an evening building together. It was fun. I miss having fun.

Unfortunately, this weekend we are booked with things that we can't bring a guest to (engagement party, etc). And the weekend after this one we'll be going crazy doing last-minute stuff before our trip. Let's make a plan for a weekend after we get back from England!
